Douglas Laird was born in Edinburgh, Scotland in 1946, but in 1965 he immigrated to Canada where he currently resides in Oakville, Ontario. His travels throughout North America and Europe strongly influenced his subject matter used in his paintings. Laird works with all mediums and his subjects often include landscape, marine, nostalgia, still life, western, wildlife, children and everyday activities. Cobble Hill tends to license his children in everyday activities paintings and more of the town scenery images, with the occasional wildlife.
