First off I an only in my 50's with never having to wear glasses, but to use readers and a magnifying glass to put this together. The picture on the box was not big enough to see all the details. Then only to complete the puzzle and have 2 pieces missing. I have put together a lot of puzzles and I'm very careful so I know it was from the factory, this is so disappointing after spending hrs working on it. Then there resolution is to send me another of the same puzzle, like I really want to put the same puzzle together again. This is my first Cobble Hill puzzle and will be my last. There are many more puzzle companys out there and have never had a missing piece before.
** Thanks for your feedback Lori. We're very sorry to hear that the puzzle had two missing pieces, that is disappointing indeed. And it sounds like you may have had one of our modular boxes (small square), which are made mainly for retailers like Barnes & Noble and Hobby Lobby to save on their shelf space. Our standard boxes are rectangular and include a 9" x 12" reference poster. The reason we offer the same image is to keep the program feasible & honest. We have what we call "Lost & Found" files where customers tell us a piece is missing, only to write back saying, never mind, found it in my housecoat, laundry basket, flower pot, etc.. The pieces aren't always lost in the room that they puzzle is worked on and yes, they can be lost at the factory too; we acknowledge that. But, if we offered a new puzzle, many more people would suddenly be missing pieces just to get a new puzzle - we know this from experience based on the scam calls we get, it's shocking. So to keep the program openly available whether lost at the factory or a dog ate the piece, we ship bags, not boxes of the replacement and it's the same image to make your original puzzle whole again. A lot of our fans collect our puzzles for future enjoyment and others share or trade them with friends. So we hope that the replacement bag is a fair option. To get a new puzzle in this situation, as opposed to just the bag, we offer a discount coupon for anyone interested - feel free to fill out the form if you are interested in getting that. *And interesting side fact, the puzzle factory who cuts our puzzles, also cuts puzzles for many other puzzle brands out there, so it's not just the brand that has an issue, it just depends on what happens with the people working at the factory that day. You'll notice that most reputable brands have a "Missing Pieces Replacement" offer because we do care. Again, our apologies for the disappointment.
