As I finished the puzzle and took an even closer look I thought to myself how great it would be if I were able to pick up that rod and reel and start casting. To find yourself out in nature – experiencing its vast and peaceful qualities while fly fishing is a blessing.

Lighthouses are a warning to marine vessels about reefs, dangerous rocks, and shallow waters. Over the years lighthouses have saved thousands of lives and millions of dollars by being able to alert ships nearing dangerous waters, keeping them safe. August 7th is recognized as National Lighthouse Day. 

My connection to this puzzle is a fishing trip two of my friends and I took on the Saint John’s River in Florida. The sign on the back of the boat docked in front of the store reads they even “Deliver on the River.” I was extremely pleased with how the puzzle looked when it was completed.

I thought I was some kind of artist when I started making potholders. To say the least, I was proud of myself at that young age, being able to make beautiful potholders as gifts for my mother.

Pictures tell a story and the story I saw when I first viewed this puzzle picture was a scene of an old farmstead with a beautiful sun setting over the old farm tractor.

The homeowner is into landscaping because the yard is full of diverse types of plants and flowers and the scene is set in the Spring of the year because the flowers are in full bloom and the grass is green.

America has so many interesting, educational, and beautiful places to see. As I was working on this puzzle, I watched it come together and was mentally revisiting some of the different trips I have made to these states. 

When I first saw the steam powered locomotive in this puzzle picture, I thought about my ride on the Durango to Silverstone train. When I finished putting the puzzle together, I took a closer look at it and as I looked at the side of the engine, I saw the name “Durango & Silverton”.

I loved putting this puzzle together and as I did, the steam locomotives that I had the pleasure of riding began to come alive in my memory.
